Mixed bag; at its best it is amazing, but at its worst it can be a bit bland. Most of the time it works

Lifes Rich Pageant by R.E.M.

Super solid record all around and nice variety. These guys were on a legendary tear in the 80’s pumping out all these great albums one after the other. Mike Mills’ BGVs really make such a big difference in their sound

Odds are you have probably already heard “Losing My Religion”, so just skip the rest of this one.

Bandwagonesque by Teenage Fanclub

Deciding whether they want to be My Bloody Valentine or their own thing, and I think they get some great singles out of this one. But the whole album does not flow together that well IMHO
